Clickwork is an iPhone remote for Android TV and Google TV. It works with TVs from Sony, TCL, Philips, Hisense and others, Chromecast with Google TV, Google TV Streamer and NVIDIA Shield. It does not work with Samsung, LG, Roku, Fire TV or Apple TV.
If something isn't working, this page covers the usual fixes and how to reach us.
Check that the iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi, not a guest network, and that no VPN is running on the iPhone. In iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network, make sure Clickwork is turned on. Restarting the TV often helps too.
On the pairing screen, tap Not this TV?. The TV drops its code and Clickwork won't pick it for you again.
The code is six characters, using 0–9 and A–F. If the camera misreads it, type it instead. If the TV has forgotten your iPhone, the remote shows Pair Again; tap it and follow the code on the TV.
Clickwork wakes the TV over Wi-Fi. Some TVs only allow this when a setting is on: look in the TV's network or power settings for an option like "Wake on network", "Network standby" or "Turn on with Wi-Fi". If the TV has been unplugged, turn it on once with its own remote first.
The Type key appears when the TV has a text field open, and inside apps with search. In YouTube, what you type runs a YouTube search. A few apps don't share their text field with remotes; in those, use the on-screen keyboard on the TV.
Voice needs iOS 26 or later. On earlier versions the mic key is hidden and the rest of the remote works normally. If it's there but doesn't hear you, check iPhone Settings → Clickwork and allow Microphone and Speech Recognition.
Open Clickwork once and make sure your TV is paired and on. Widgets and Control Center use the same TV as the app, and need the iPhone on the same Wi-Fi.
Open the ⋯ menu on the remote and check Button Clicks and Haptics.
On the unlock screen, tap Restore purchase while signed in with the Apple Account you bought it with. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with your app version and what you see. Please do not send payment card details.
Clickwork connects directly to your TV and has no account, analytics or ads. Camera images and voice are processed on your iPhone.
